Paul Davenport

Davenport begins his 13th season as the head coach of the Hill College Women's Soccer program. He previously served as the head coach for both the men’s and women’s programs between 2011-2023.


Since joining the Hill College Soccer program, Davenport has established Hill Soccer as a regional and nationally-respected program. Hill Soccer has achieved the following during Davenport’s tenure: 13 combined Region V titles, 3 District titles, and 6 trips to the NJCAA National Championship tournament.

Hill College Men were 1 of only 3 schools in the nation to have qualified for 3 consecutive NJCAA National Championship Tournaments between (2014-2016).

Davenport was named the Plains District Coach of the Year in 2014 and 2015 and Region V Coach of the Year in 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022. He was the only coach in the nation to manage both men's and women’s soccer programs to Regional Championships in 2014. He also achieved 100+ wins during his time at Hill College including wins over No. 2 Illinois Central (2014), No. 4 Pima (2015), No. 4 Lewis & Clark (2019), No. 9 Rose State (2021), and No. 11 Laramie (2022) at the National Championship Tournament.


Hill Soccer has scored a total of 600 goals since Davenport has taken over. Davenport has been able to successfully move on men and women to all levels in collegiate soccer including NCAA D1, D2, D3, and NAIA D1 in the last four years to continue their college educations, with more than half receiving soccer scholarships to play.


Davenport’s collegiate coaching experience began at Texas Christian University where he served as Director of Operations for the women’s soccer team from 2008-2010. In 2011, he was named assistant coach at TCU before taking the job at Hill College. He was able to learn under Mountain West Conference Coach of the Year Dan Abdalla.


Originally from Irving, Texas, Davenport attended Texas A&M-Commerce University where he was on the football team for a year before becoming a volunteer assistant with the women’s soccer program. He received his bachelor’s degree in Sports Administration and later received his master’s degree in Educational Administration from TCU.

Ivan Franco

Ivan Franco, a native of Gainesville, is entering his first year as the Men’s and Women’s Soccer Assistant Coach at Hill College.


Franco comes to Hill College from the University of Texas at Permian Basin (UTPB), an NCAA Division II school in the Lone Star Conference, where he wrapped up his playing career in the Fall of 2023. Franco appeared in five starts and seven appearances before his season concluded due to injury.


Franco began his coaching career as a volunteer student assistant coach at UTPB. Prior to his collegiate coaching experience, Franco volunteered and assisted at Gainesville High School for three consecutive years during the winter breaks.


Franco also played at Davis and Elkins College in West Virginia, a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II program in the Mountain East Conference. He helped contribute to their record of 26-3-3 over the span of two seasons while being nationally ranked both seasons and reaching the NCAA tournament.


Beginning his collegiate career at Hill Junior College, a National Junior College Athletic Association Division I program, Franco contributed two years as a captain, earning a Region V Championship and a District tournament appearance. His teams had a combined record of 22-9 over two seasons.


Franco earned his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Davis and Elkins College. He is pursuing his Master's in Sports Administration at Southeastern Oklahoma State.?


Franco will begin earning his United States Soccer Federation “D” Coaching License in 2024.
